Vampirism is more of a variation of humanity, onset by a venom. It slowly poisons the body, twisting it from the the inside so that the person craves blood and needs it to survive. There is no cure. No magic bullet, no "alpha" to kill to get back to normal. Vampires who try to resist the blood lust face a constant battle with themselves, and the more they drink, the more they succumb. Therefore, if a vampire is lucky and doesn't get caught and killed, he or she either loses him/herself, or he/she commits suicide. Doesn't quite have the glamor of legend, now does it?
